The 2012 Newt Gingrich presidential campaign has long embraced the tools and tactics of emerging media. As the campaign season shifted into high gear, The Liberty Lab was hired to upgrade the campaign's Facebook presence and identify tools that would increase grassroots support and encourage additional online engagement.

The Tea Party Debt Commission
Following the 2011 debate to raise the debt ceiling, FreedomWorks engaged The Liberty Lab to develop an innovative grassroots polling application to help gauge tea party movement sentiment on a variety of potential spending cuts. The results were then on Capitol Hill before a joint hearing of Senators and Congressmen.

The Lincoln Club of Orange County
Founded 1962, the Lincoln Club of Orange County has shaped California and national politics for over four decades. Their primary focus is decreasing the scope of government, reducing taxes, and expanding freedom. The organization needed a simple website to communicate current and potential members about policy initiatives and upcoming events.

WhyWeFight: A Tax Day Tele-Townhall
The WhyWeFight website was the centerpiece of a tax day conversation with the American people featuring Newt Gingrich. The Liberty Lab collaborated with American Solutions to combine the tools digital and traditional media to engage a virtual audience. Registered users participated via online chat, Twitter, telephone, and radio broadcast. Social media buzz was created via the #whywefight Twitter hashtag.

myTeaParty.org
Using a unique “run-off” matchup model, myTeaParty.org needed an online polling tool designed to elicit deeper preferences from voters and make it much more difficult for well-organized campaigns to “game” the system. The model proved very popular with tea party movement activists... over 1.3 MILLION votes were tallied in the first four days.
